Desi Paye Recipe


  • Fried Onions : 1/2 cup 
  • Lemons : PRN 
  • Fresh Mint Leaves : 1/2 cup 
  • Whole Garam Masala : one tablespoon
  • Cow’s hoof : one 
  • Oil : one cup 
  • National Garam Masala Powder : one teaspoon 
  • Yogurt : [*fr1] cup 
  • Ginger Garlic Paste : three teaspoon 
  • Ginger : five tablespoons, finely shredded   
  • Green Chilies : a pair of tablespoons shredded 
  • National Paya Masala : one packet (50 grams)


  1. In a massive pot, combine whole garam masala, three tbsp shredded ginger, cow’s hoof, and water PRN.
  2. Simmer for five hours.
  3. When the meat on the hoof is tender, drain off the stock and keep it aside (6 cups of stock ought to remain).
  4. In a separate pot, heat the oil and fry the ginger garlic paste, yoghourt and National Paya Masala till broiled through.
